DVClub Bristol - Topics in Property checking

Abstract:

The benefits of property checking can be elusive – the lure of proving properties on your design is very attractive but seemingly hard to achieve. The next DVClub meeting in Bristol will look at this topic with talks from researchers and practitioners rather than vendors of the latest snake oil.

Speakers:

Kerstin Eder, Bristol University will review the current academic research
Steve Wright, a PhD student with Bristol University reports on a formal correct-by-construction approach to ISA development
Mike Bartley, TVS considers the application of property checking outside the region
Richard Boulton shares the result of an evaluation on “cost of deployment” at Icera
Geoff Barrett, Broadcom explains why he thinks it doesn’t work
Tim Blackmore presents the theory and practice of property checking at Infineon
The meeting will finish with a panel discussion, inviting questions from the audience.

Location:

The event will be hosted by Infineon, Bristol (near Parkway station) on Wednesday 21st January 2009, 11.30 to 14.00. There will be lots of opportunity for networking and discussion over your free buffet lunch.
